Map of the Phoenix canal System

Map of Phoenix canal system
The above map is of the Phoenix canal system which is run by the Salt River Project or SRP as we call it.

The map is incomplete and doesn't contain all of the canals.

When I used to live in Sunnyslope I rode my bike along most of the Arizona Canal from Scottsdale to West Phoenix.

Since the government seized both of my homes I have ridden along the Grand Canal from east Phoenix to west Phoenix.

Also I have written my bike a few times along the Crosscut Canal.

There are two Crosscut Canals, the old one which runs along 48th Street in Phoenix and the new one which runs in Scottsdale near 64th Street.

On the south side of the Salt River I have ridden my bike along the Tempe Canal which is seems like it is more in Mesa, then in Tempe.

The Western Canal is a really strange named canal. What the hell is the Western Canal west of?

Don't ask me! The Western Canal is really in the East Valley and I can't think of anything it is West of.

I have ridden my bike along the Western Canal from south Phoenix near South Mountain, then into Tempe by the Arizona Mills Mall, and then by Tempe Kiwanis Park, and finally as it runs between Guadalupe and Elliot Road to Country Club or Arizona Avenue near the Mesa Chandler border.

I should take a trip along the Western Canal to the Consolidated Canal and then back into Mesa near Pat's house.

I have also ridden along the South Canal as it splits off of the Consolidated Canal and runs north to McDowell Road. I am not sure if this canal dead ends there or goes on to the Salt River.

And back when I was working for SBD I think I crossed the Consolidated Canal a few times over in the area of Queen Creek and Ocotillo. That was when we were over on Riggs Road and McQueen.

Also when SBD was in downtown Chandler I probably road by the Consolidated Canal near Pecos. I probably also road my bike by the Eastern Canal when I was at SBD in downtown Chandler.

I am guessing that I have ridden across the Eastern Canal when I road my bike out near Falcon Field in East Mesa. But I don't ever think I have ridden along the Eastern Canal.
