Glendale rulers to search serfs entering city hall

F*ck the 4th Amendment! We are the government and we don't trust you! So we are going to search you for weapons, drugs and other contraband! Constitutional rights? Don't make me laugh! Serfs don't have Constitutional rights!

Glendale City Hall security tightened

Glendale is increasing security at City Hall by installing metal detectors and instituting bag inspections outside the City Council chambers.

Visitors will notice the measures beginning Tuesday at all council meetings and workshops.

Sgt. Brent Coombs, a Glendale police spokesman, said the measures were prompted by events such as the shooting in Tucson that killed six people and injured Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and 12 others at a constituent meeting on Jan. 8.

Coombs said police agencies across the Valley have re-evaluated security measures for public meetings.

"The chief (Steve Conrad) felt it was of the utmost importance to provide the safest environment we could for the citizens that are coming to those meetings," Coombs said. [What rubbish! It's not to protect citizens, it's to protect the royal rulers of Glendale from the serfs they rule over!]

Tempe and Phoenix set up metal detectors after the Tucson incident. Goodyear stopped after a few weeks. Surprise has had them since 2008. Glendale City Court has used metal detectors and bag checks for years. The equipment at the council chambers will be portable and cost $3,669.

City officials recommend visitors arrive a few minutes early and remember that no weapons are permitted.

Coombs said security measures at off-site meetings with residents that Mayor Elaine Scruggs and council members hold will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
