Flap over medical-pot signs is sad

Apr. 5, 2011 12:00 AM

If all the hullabaloo over where the marijuana pharmacies are to be located wasn't so sad, it would be funny.

There are stores on nearly every major corner in the state with 4-foot-tall letters saying "Drugs." But, for some reason, our so-called leaders think it is necessary to keep the marijuana pharmacies hidden from public view and a "safe distance" from schools and churches as if the mere presence of such a store would create havoc or corrupt people.

The customers of these marijuana pharmacies will be normal people. The regular pharmacies have much more dangerous drugs in stock - drugs that are more abused and abusive than marijuana. [ Was this guy asleep in his government high school class when they showed the film "Reefer Madness" about the dangers of marijuana. Anybody knows that taking one hit of a marijuana cigarette will cause a Black man to go out and rape 6 White woman! Honest! That's what the government nannies told us! ]

And it also raises the question of why a regular pharmacy is not capable of dispensing marijuana. It's not like they don't have the expertise to keep drugs secure or validate prescriptions.

And why do people who can use it legally have to pay $150 for a permit to buy their prescription? Users of other much more dangerous drugs don't have to. [ Because it's and easy way for government nannies to raise revenue. Sin taxes are always popular with government tyrants as a way to steal money from the serfs they rule over. In this case they think they can get away with the outrageous $150 tax because they use the lame excuse that pot smokers are sinners. ]

It seems to me that the whole idea is to make it as expensive as possible, an idea pushed by Big Pharma.

I have to disagree with Jim Ellis about this being a plot by Big Pharma to make medical marijuana more expensive. I think the government want to keep marijuana illegal because the drug war is really a jobs program for highly paid cops, prosecutors, judges, prison guards, probation officers and other people who are part of the criminal injustice system in America.
