Chandler police stings net 13 arrests, cash, marijuana Operations yielded 400 pounds, $200,000 by Laurie Merrill - May. 9, 2011 11:02 AM The Arizona Republic In three drug stings from March to this month, Chandler police arrested 13 suspects, seized nearly $200,000 in cash and recovered as much as 400 pounds of marijuana, records show. Many of the suspects had extensive records. Two deals took place in Chandler and one in Mesa. All three were "reverse" stings, in which the alleged dealers bring cash to buy large quantities of marijuana. Chandler police set up and monitored the deals, and made arrests as marijuana and cash exchanged hands, according to the records. A reverse sting Monday involved 220 pounds of marijuana and $120,000 cash and resulted in the arrests of four people, including Ladislao Silva Aguila, 51, of Mexico, who has a history of offenses in Arizona and California, records show. Police said he once was deported and has committed crimes under aliases. In the recent sting, Aguila was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy, money laundering a concealed transaction, and possession of marijuana for sale. Previously, he had been arrested on suspicion of marijuana possession, transporting marijuana, possession of narcotic for sale, ID theft, fraud schemes, forgery schemes and drunken driving, according to the Chandler police report. Police arrested Cheryl Lynne Fecht, 58, who goes by Shirley Mae Naylor, of Snowflake. She has prior arrests on suspicion of making false statements to the Social Security Administration and possession of marijuana, police said. Also arrested were Robert Kiven Fecht, 57, of Apache Junction, who has prior arrests on suspicion of marijuana, hash and heroin distribution, and Jesse Hernandez Sr., 64, of Oracle, whose prior arrests include suspicion of possession of marijuana, transporting marijuana, assault and aggravated assault. An April 19 reverse sting involved $55,000 and 100 pounds of pot, records show. Police arrested three people who were either born in Jamaica or are citizens of the country: Robert Zico Patterson, 29; Courtney Campbell, 39; and Everton McGregor, 43. Also arrested were Tira Terrain Council, 34, of Florida, and Jason Cedric Suki, 21, from New York, the records show. All five were charged with conspiracy. Some face additional charges. McGregor, on probation on a marijuana-sales conviction, had the most extensive record of arrests, including illegal control of an enterprise and marijuana sales and transportation. A March 24 reverse sting netted $25,000, 50 pounds of marijuana and several guns, records show. Suspects include Jamaican natives Owen Edgar Martin, 38; Paul White, 45; and Marlon Antonio Morrison, 28, as well as Dennis Jurado-Corrales from Mexico. All were arrested on suspicion of marijuana possession for sale, money laundering and conspiracy, police said. White faces additional escape and fugitive justice counts.
